We are proud to announce the grand opening of the Muste Bridge (Doživljajski most Muste) in Ljubljana! 🇸🇮
Yesterday, November 3, the bridge was officially inaugurated by Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Janković, accompanied by a vibrant celebration. Spanning the Ljubljanica river, this unique infrastructure beautifully links the Štepanjsko naselje and Nove Fužine neighborhoods.
Pipenbaher Consulting Engineers, Ponting, and ATELIERarhitekti jointly designed the bridge, co-developing the architectural and structural concept that won first prize in the 2019 public design competition. Together, we brought this ambitious urban vision to life.
Going beyond a simple river crossing, the bridge serves as a dynamic public space tailored for both pedestrians and cyclists. Dedicated outer pathways frame a central shallow arch, which suspends a lower gathering area designed specifically for relaxation and community events. Meanwhile, a sweeping curved ramp arches above the structure, elevating the visitor experience by providing unique scenic viewpoints along the journey.
Forming the heart of the broader Muste Park development—which also features new adjacent squares (Veliki and Mali trg) and a local market—this bridge is much more than a crossing. It is a vibrant new hub for community life in the capital.
Congratulations to the City of Ljubljana, our partners at ATELIERarhitekti and Ponting, the construction team at STRABAG, and everyone who contributed to making this landmark a reality. We are honored to have designed a structure that will serve and inspire the city for generations to come!
