The main bridge over Danube river is composed of two bridges separated by and expansion joint (on pier no. 6); approach bridge on Buda side area, and main bridge over the Danube river.

The approach bridge on Buda side leads the roadway and tram traffic from Szerémi street spanning Budafoki street, on to the Danube bridge. The architecturally designed 5-span superstructure consists of reinforced concrete portal frames with a slender post-tensioned reinforced concrete slab. The total system length of the approach bridge structure is 30.0 + 45.5 + 2 x 38.0 + 33.0 = 184.50 m. The depth of the deck structure is 2.50 m, and the total width is 36.05 m.

The main Danube bridge is conceived as self-anchorage suspension bridge with central pylon of the height of 80.0 m above the bridge deck and spans 48.0 + 162.0 + 306.0 + 48.0 = 564 .0 m. The twin bridge superstructure is 4.5 m high and in total 49.88 m wide. Hybrid superstructure is composed of twin post-tensioned reinforced concrete hollow box structures in the end spans and twin orthotropic steel deck (hollow box structures) over the Danube river. Pedestrian steel hollow box girders are airtight welded box-sections connected to main hollow box girders. The total system length of the approach and main bridge is 184.5 + 5.0 + 564.0 = 753.5 m.
